Today I'd like to introduce a Japanese charactor who is famous in japan but not known around the world.
Have you ever heard of Fukusuke?
In the Edo era, dolls called Fukusuke, were very popular.
"Fuku" means "luck" so they were made to bring good luck.
They had specific characteristics such as a big head, plump ears and a samurai style hairdo.
The model for this doll was an adult but he was only 60cm tall and his head was really big.
He was part of a "talent" show and became famous.
A samurai became fond of Fukusuke and took him to live with himself and his child.
After that happiness continued in the samurai's home and he took good care of Fukusuke.
I love this caracter very much and I hope you will too!
